Decibel Magazine is always a good read and definitely the the best glossy metal mag in the game. I’ve been meaning to scan some stuff from the December 2009 issue, so here ’tis. The Trouble interview and induction into Decibel’s Hall of Fame for their first record… a personal favorite of mine… is killin’ it!!! I also love the cutest kitties in metal and the High on Fire studio exclusive with a sick photo of Matt Pike rocking a ponytail and an acoustic guitar. \m/

Things just got a lot louder in Rock N Roll Heaven. Dickie Peterson is all time. His dedication to heavy rock kept Blue Cheer playing and turning the air into cottage cheese in clubs and at festivals with volume that would decimate mere mortals and non-rockers up until his unforunate passing. To say that the man is a hero and an inspiration is an understatement.

Imaad Wasif has made a trippy new record from the looks of this video for “Redeemer” off his latest album the Voidist. No surprise then that getting Jess Holzworth to direct the video would be a perfect fit. Good lookin’ out y’all!!!
I posted these killer drawings by Andreas Jenne a while back, but felt it was worth a bump on this blog to put it back up with the accompanying songs. Give ‘em a spin before you buy this record here.

Primal Scream – I Want You (Troggs cover) by playwhitenoise
RTX – Natures Way (Spirit cover) by playwhitenoise
HBO’s hit vampire TV show has questionable acting and pulpy story lines. It’s also a helluva lot of fun to watch. I’m hooked, but the show would rate WAYYYYYYY cooler in my book if the RTX song used in the original intro (as in the above featurette created by Digital Kitchen) was used instead of the “do bad things with you” song.
Thanks EA for sending me this video of epic troo southern storage unit death metal by Morbid Angel. \m/
Jennifer Herrema I-D Magazine Feature September 2009 P(retty)Y(oung)T(hings) issue+ outakes!!
Fashion magazines are about looking at the pretty pictures and for the September 2009 issue of i-D they got it massively right with a killer retrospective of Jennifer Herrema photos. Come for the photos, but stay for the great interview that is basically a beginners history guide to Royal Trux, RTX and all things Jennifer.
Here goes……. one of the most recent of a long line of SICK!!! features on one of my absolute favorite rockers of all time….. RESPECT & PROPS JJ!!!
